The Roleplay Project

The Future of RPP

As you might already know from our latest discord announcement, the Community Management has decided to put an end to our MTA server.
This has been a difficult decision as all of us, we have been roleplaying on the GTA:SA platform for years. However, everything eventually comes to an end.
We feel like we have given it our best attempts, but at this time there is too little interest in our MTA server for it to be sustainable.
We wish to thank everyone who shared the journey with us and we thank you for the last few months of fun times and good RP on our MTA server.

The MTA server will be shut down Monday, May 4th, so you still have a few days to say your goodbyes and conclude your ongoing RP.
The discord channel and forums will already start to see some major changes today as we're working internally to remove the remaining MTA roles, threads, and so on.

The verified member, ticket systems and role assignment features will be removed entirely.
Anyone who was already a member on our discord will now automatically gain access to our general channels.
All MTA staff members will be laid off as we're closing down the platform completely.

We'd like to thank everyone who took part in our journey, and especially thank all our hard working staff members that took time out of their personal lives to work on MTA and try to make it a great place to roleplay on for everybody.

What happens next?
We have decided to go back to the early roots of RPP, and purely focus on GTA:V for the time being.
We are still quite far away from a release, so we're not looking for any staff members at the moment.
A few selected people might be appointed into very limited roles for internal reasons such as closed beta testing and handling our members with early access.

I understand that this may upset some of you, especially MTA staff members that put a lot of time and effort into everything for these past few months.
Please note that when GTA:V is getting closer to release, we will require most of the same staff roles and teams back.
People that we already know from our MTA platform and with past experience will of course have an upper hand in this, but we will still be looking for some fresh minds into a brand new community when the time comes.

If you have any further questions, feel free to leave a comment below and we will try to answer it as soon as we can.
You can also contact me, or anyone else in Community Management anytime on discord, I am personally quite active on discord.

For the people who wish to stick around for our GTA:V project, you're quite welcome to!

I wish you all the best in your future endeavors, Community Manager Piloten.

If your management is gonna be as shit as it was on MTA you might as well save time and close the community

Well, guess I better find another game to get interested in... Every time a new MTA server pops up, it goes good for a month; then everyone loses interest and disappears off to the next server.

I hope the new UAT can revitalize the much needed merit of decisiveness. This is a sad thing that could have been avoided if only UAT were as concerned back then as the junior mods that back in late January voiced the concerns for the first time. History will repeat itself if you do not take notes from past mistake and implement measurements to avoid such mistakes in future projects.

Godspeed.

I'd just like to state in whole that MTA as a platform has been losing members left and right, same goes for SA:MP. Most servers have, if not fully integrated into GTA:V because of the modern community experiences. Obviously this is a sad thing to see since MTA/SA:MP was the place to be and I had my chores of fun on it, however after declining numbers I left. I do agree, the mentality me and a lot of others share in leaving are one of the contributing factors for the demise of servers. You can only hold your community for so long until they burn out and do other things. This is the exact reason why my Cluckin' Bell idea did not fall through. Nevertheless, I will remember RPP as a fun experience, especially with @Fernando, @Munhausen , @YoPeh, and the rest of the crew in Renshaw.

Good constructive criticism, and I absolutely agree with what you're saying.
Will definitely try to change some things up for the future!
